7:20 pm - Your Astrological Sign May Not Be What You Think It Is
Something I thought ya'll would enjoy

quoted from an article by Pedro Braganca

"Precession and Astrology

The first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere was once marked by the zero point of the Zodiac. Astronomers call this the and it occurs as the ecliptic and celestial equator intersect.

Around 600 BCE, the zero point was in Aries and was called the "first point of Aries." The constellation Aries encompassed the first 30 degrees of the ecliptic; from 30 to 60 degrees was Taurus; from 60 to 90 degrees was Gemini; and so on for all twelve constellations of the Zodiac.

Unbeknownst to the ancient astrologers, the Earth continually wobbles around its axis in a 25,800-year cycle. This wobble-called precession-is caused by the gravitational attraction of the Moon on Earth's equatorial bulge.

Over the past two-and-a-half millennia, this wobble has caused the intersection point between the celestial equator and the ecliptic to move west along the ecliptic by 36 degrees, or almost exactly one-tenth of the way around. This means that the signs have slipped one-tenth-or almost one whole month-of the way around the sky to the west, relative to the stars beyond.

For instance, those born between March 21 and April 19 consider themselves to be Aries. Today, the Sun is no longer within the constellation of Aries during much of that period. From March 11 to April 18, the Sun is actually in the constellation of Pisces! which demonstrates the precession of the equinoxes from 600 BCE to 2600.

Your "Real Sign"

The table below lists the dates when the Sun is actually within the astronomical constellations of the Zodiac, according to modern constellation boundaries and corrected for precession (these dates can vary a day from year to year).

You will most likely find that once precession is taken into account, your zodiac sign is different. And if you were born between November 29 and December 17, your sign is actually one you never saw in the newspaper: you are an Ophiuchus! The eliptic passes through the constellation of Ophiuchus after Scorpius.

Now you really have something cool with which to start that conversation!

Check out your “real” zodiac sign below and see what the sky looked like on your birthday by going to the application.

Capricorn - Jan 20 to Feb 16
Aquarius - Feb 16 to Mar 11
Pisces - Mar 11 to Apr 18
Aries - Apr 18 to May 13
Taurus - May 13 to Jun 21
Gemini - Jun 21 to Jul 20
Cancer - Jul 20 to Aug 10
Leo - Aug 10 to Sep 16
Virgo - Sep 16 to Oct 30
Libra - Oct 30 to Nov 23
Scorpius - Nov 23 to Nov 29
Ophiuchus - Nov 29 to Dec 17
Sagittarius - Dec 17 to Jan 20 "

3:41 pm - Work Comp Crock or Come Let us Kill Ya!
Hubby tore his knee up a while back and workmans comp has been dragging their heels and throwing pain meds at the problem instead of fixing it with the operation he needs!

Today hubby came home doubled over in pain and I know for a fact hubby is no wuss if he says it hurts he has got to be almost dying.

So I called up the work comp nurse in charge of his case the convo went like this:

Me: Hi hubby is in much pain from kidneys could his pain meds be causeing this?

WC Nurse" Oh No!!! It could not possibly be what we prescribed but have him come see us , DONT GO TO ANYONE ELSE!!!"

Me: Um...Ooookay.

Me: (after hanging up and taking him to our private Dr.)Hi there its me again I took him to our private dr and he says that one of the main side effects of meds you put hubby on is kidney problems and you need to change his meds!!!

WC Nurse: BUT...I Told You NOT to go to anyone else.

Me:(thinking to my self) Yes and I suppose you also dont want me to sue you for lying to me right?

WC Nurse:just send him down here and we will change his meds right away.

Me: yes I certainly would think so! Thank you and bye.

What is frightening is my speculation of how many people they get away with this type of thing on before someone like us catches them!

I suppose if they killed him with a bad drug I could get rich off the malpractice but it would be too much like work training a new husband!

10:51 am - Something that made me say ...Whuh?
I was listening to the TV drone while a commercial for some medication was on.
At the end it said,"Stop using this medicine if you experience any of the following: eating, walking or driving while sleeping."

My first thought was WTF?
Don't they screen these commercials?
Is there actualy such a thing as sleep driving? or sleep eating?
Is it ok to wake up a sleep driver?
Maybe the person who wrote this commercial was sleep writing?
If you have seen something this weird on a commercial or advertisement please post it in your reply. I could use the laugh!

It turns out hubby tore two weight bearing ligaments in his right knee joint and is going to have to have an operation to repair the primary and secondary damage. They also found two ganglion cysts behind his leg . Those of you who pray please remember him in your prayers. One of his supervisors made him lift the heavy pump pipes after the dr specificaly told them he couldn't so I think someone (cough)(his supervisor)(cough) is gonna be in deep poodoo!

1:00 pm - My boring day
Took hubby to get an MRI on his leg this morning. We were going to pay the plates on our car but discovered that Uncle Sam is taking a holiday today (he even changed columbus's birthday to do it) had lunch out at the buffet then went home.

Kwai Chang did the cutest thing when we got home. We have adopted the neighbors cat (fluffy) as they have been neglecting her. When she saw us drive up she immediately turned on the starving cat look complete with rubbing and meows. So hubby went in to get her a can of food. Kwai Chang was sound asleep on the sofa at the time and I interupted his nap to give him some affection. He opened one eye and purred stretching lazily in that (Can't you see I'm resting?) cat fasion. Then hubby popped the lid on the cat food and Kwai Chang went from sound asleep to wide awake and made a bee line for hubby in less than two seconds. Hubby told him," you already have a dish full of food in the kitchen" to which Kwai Chang responded with an icy glare of death LMAO. He is very good at communicating even for a Siamese.

11:20 am - I'm in Love!
We went to the local animal shelter to pick up a freind for our dog but could not find anyone suitable . we were going to leave and my kid said well we could always get another cat? so I looked into the cat room and found they had a seal point babydoll siamese. His new name is kwai chang cain and he is a doll! I will post pictures as soon as I have some. he has siamese points on three legs and white stockings on all four paws his hair is medium long and he has lovely white babydoll spectacles. He spent the night curled up in bed with us then retired to my daughters pillow in the morning. Needless to say I looked down and found my heart captured by a cat! Dragon (our black american shorthair) surprised us all by accepting kwai chang without any fuss. Maybe he just has a thing for siamese? The kids were teasing me yesterday by singing "have you ever thought when you eat chinese it aint pork or chicken but a fat siamese" ( to the tune of cats in the cradle)

2:11 pm - dragon wagon court case
We appeared in superior court today for the second time. Noone but us showed up after all parties had been supeoned by the judge. So...The judge declared us innocent of the charges that we caused the accident, and has held all other parties in contempt of court which I understand carries a heavy fine. The court officer tried to stick up for his buddy saying he might be on duty , the judge was not having any of it. He said," The officer if he is on duty has an obligation to call the court and inform us, as we have recieved no calls he is likewise held in contempt!" Next step now that we have proved they are liars is to take them to small claims court.

O.K. in my next life I want to be the bathing suit inspector just bring thos bekini briefs over here sir!

In Kentucky, it's the law that a person must take a bath once a year.

and they enforce this how exactly?

Carrizozo It's forbidden for a female to appear unshaven in public

again who do they get to inspect?

The saying "it's so cold out there it could freeze the balls off a brass monkey" came from when they had old cannons like ones used in the Civil War. The cannonballs were stacked in a pyramid formation, called a brass monkey. When it got extremely cold outside they would crack and break off... thus the saying.

Ouch! poor brass monkey!

7:34 pm - through a childs eyes
I got a call from my oldest last night, Her husband is home from bagdad! my grandaughter took one look at him and her whole face lit up she launched herself at his knee and hung on with all her might yelling daddy daddy daddy. He was overwhelmed as she is only three and he had been afraid she would not remember who he was. He started outside after dislodging her so he could bring in the groceries from the truck and she went into a fit of hysterics. he came back in to calm her down. At this point she took the ribbons from the ballons he had brought home , tied dada into a kitchen chair and informed him quite seriously," you bad dada , you cant go out !" he was touched and stunned at the same time. I feel sorry for them because she is certain to have seperation anxiety once his leave is over and he has to go back to work. Fortunately he is back stateside for good though as he gets out of the corps in april.
